The Wayside Inn Restaurant and Lounge features the area's finest cuisine, enjoyed in a cozy, romantic atmosphere with service that’s second to none. In addition to our renowned menu selection, be sure to inquire about the evening’s Dinner Specials. All dinners are created and individually prepared by Chef Scott Jordan.

Built in 1873 from hand-hewn chestnut and hemlock timbers, the Wayside Inn has provided weary travelers a place to rest with fine food and drink for over a century. Located between Fryburg and Lucinda on a path once traveled by the Algonquin Indians, the Wayside Inn has served this area as a Stage Coach Stop, Post Office, Hotel, Speak-Easy and Restaurant.
From 1930 until 1996 the Wayside Inn was operated by a lovable woman named Helen Aul. Known far and wide as a great cook and baker, Helen’s hospitality was second to none, as many diners will attest to “Eating in the kitchen” when the dining rooms were overcrowded.
